Well, it smells alright. But it taste like. Um. Soggy cardboard? This was not enjoyable.

Mikkeller I Beat U

Oooo. This is tasty. Lots of citrusy hoppy greatness. Mildly sweet.

This was a lot better than the Mikkeller/Brewdog collaboration beer (even though this is brewed at Brewdog).

It was fairly pricey though ($7).

Mikkeller/Grassroots lemoncello ipa

On tap at max's taphouse

Well, it's certainly lemony. It's a more natural lemon peel kind of taste than say Sam summer ale.

A bizarre choice for a winter drink.

Brewdog/Mikkeller I Hardcore U

My binge of hoppy beers continues.

This is actually pretty good. Well balanced. But also pretty expensive ($6 for a bottle).

Mikkeller Rauch Geek Breakfast (Beer Geek Bacon)

Strong smoked aroma. I guess I could see it interpreted as a bacon smell.

Fairly bitter finish.

Mikkeller Black Hole

This was sold in a weird sized bottle.

Super bitter coffee taste. Not really much carbonation. Its interesting, but not terribly great. Wouldn't buy it again.

Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast

This was a nice change of pace from the other more recent stouts I've had. Possibly because there was no barrel aging involved.

It was pleasantly carbonated and didn't drink like motor oil. I think the hops come through a lot better on this than some others I've had recently. The coffee and chocolate flavors aren't as prominent.

Mikkeller Simcoe Single Hop IPA

Another in the single hop line.

This one (like the Nelson Sauvin) is nicely balanced. Pretty bitter but with a lot of malt to back it up. Once again the biggest problem is the price. The Weyerbacher Simcoe Double IPA showcases the hops the same way at lower price.

Mikkeller Nelson Sauvin Single Hop IPA

Largest complain about this beer series is that the bottles are damn expensive.

I like this one a lot better than the Nugget Single Hop. Definitely not as brutally bitter. The taste is piney with a hint of citrus.

Mikkeler Nugget Single Hop IPA

I bought three single hop ipas, a nugget, nelson sauvin and simcoe variety.

A lot more bitter than the standard Mikkeller IPA. I'm not sure I really like it.



Bonus Mandy Thoughts:
It's okay. Maybe a little bit of an apple juice taste.

Mikkeller Stateside IPA

I'd been interested to try some Mikkeller brews for a while but none of my usually stops seemed to carry any except for some $17 per bottle Christmas ale that's been sitting in the display for months.

So this was a nice consolation prize when I was trying to track down a bottle of the Dogfish/Stone/Victory collaboration beer.

This is on the more balanced IPA side vs. the Green Flash, Two Hearted Ale, Stone "west coast" style. A piney hops taste with just enough malt/sweetness.

Definitely a good IPA. I'd buy this again.
