Bruery - Bois

I usually have drank/shared this over Christmas or Thanksgiving meals. This year? Sunday afternoon wild card football by myself. 

Sneaky abv. Tons of dark fruit flavor. The bourbon barrel agin isn't overpowering. Some vanilla and oak notes. Alcohol burn is pretty high, but not that bad for being 15%. For how much I bitched about this beer in previous years, this was pretty great. Not sure whether it's the vintage or not being buried after numerous other drinks. I'll definitely pick up another bottle next year. 

Bruery - Fruet

This could probably use a few years on it. Very strong alcohol burn (even though its at least 6 months old). No need to drink the entire bottle (although I did). Any dark fruit or barleywine-like flavors are just buried under the bourbon and heet. I actually liked the previous versions that weren't 100% barrel aged better. I'd get another bottle in the future, but I'd give it at least two years.

Bruery - White Oak

Nice vanilla flavor from the barrel aging. This worked well. A lot more enjoyable than the local species from last night.

Bruery - Cuir

Shared over a Christmas dinner. It was enjoyable. I'd consider getting a bottle of the next anniversary release.

Stone/Bruery/Elysian - La Citrueille Celeste de Citracado

Totally ridiculous name.

A hint of maple? Slightly lemony (or that might be from the hummus I'm eating). Not bad. Reasonable priced (for one of these Stone collaborations) at $5.

Does not taste like a typical pumpkin ale.

I liked last year's version in the series well enough, so I figured I'd keep up the trend.

Still enjoyable enough. Mildly spiced. A burnt sugary sweetness.

Bruery Three French Hens

Pretty good. At the same time, nothing earth shattering. Standard belgian dark ale flavors. I think the alcohol maybe comes through too much.

Bruery Mischief

I think this is the best beer I've tried from them.

Slight citrus & spicy bitter finish. Only slightly sweet. Definitely recommended.

The Bruery Black Orchard

So according to Beer Advocate, they've stopped brewing this beer. Explains all the dust on the bottle I bought.

Bottle says its a black wheat ale. Faint chocolate and coffee smell. Slight taste of chocolate, mostly wheaty. Fairly bubbly. I guess its okay. Don't think I'd get it again (not that I'll have the chance).

The Bruery Rugbrod

Can definitely taste the rye in it, but its not as aggressive as the Founders Rye Pale Ale. Starts with a heavy dose of roasted malts, but its not really sweet. Good beer.

Bonus Leah the Dog Thoughts:
I placed this and Heavy Seas Bourbon Barrel Aged Below Decks on the floor. After staring at me for 5 seconds she wandered over to the Bruery beer. Clear winner.

Bruery Trade Winds

Hmm. Maybe a little more alcohol burn than other triples it's maybe a little heavier than others. Definitely don't get any basil. Not great, not bad.
