Epic Brewing - Elder Brett

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

On the style of Sofie, except slightly tarter and the brett comes through a little more. Very enjoyable. I'd recommend it.

New Belgium - Shift

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Nice enough for what it is. I think I like it better than the Underdog from Flying Dog.

Speakeasy - Scar Face Imperial Stout

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Surprisingly smooth. Lots of coffee flavor. Actually really good. I'd recommend it.

Stillwater - A Saison Darkly

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

After being less than satisfied with Stillwater's other dark saison's (Existent & Autumnal)and Pepe Nero, I was pleasantly surprised by this. There's a nice roasted taste, with some hard to place flavors from whatever herbs were thrown in. Enjoyable.

Stillwater - Barrel Aged Series - Folklore Aged in Oak Red Wine Barrels

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Honestly? I don't really get much from the barrel aging. Maybe a slight hint of red wine. It still finishes dry. Mild sweetness with a lot of roasted malt. Unfortunately not worth the high price tag.

Flying Dog - Underdog Atlantic Lager

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Actually pretty good for the style. Not sweet. Hops aren't really bitter, but they're there. It works. A good beer for sitting and drinking outside.

DuClaw - Anti-Venom Pale Ale Green Bullet

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

A single hopped pale ale. A variation on their Venom pale ale (which I've never had).

This was enjoyable enough. The hops are a little grassy. Decent amount of bitterness and balance.

Stillwater - Bronze Age

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

There was something in the grain/malt bill that I didn't really like. Sort of reminiscent of a bad lager. There is a fruit smell that I can't quite place, maybe a little like a hefeweizen. I'd pass.

Hitachino Net Beer Three Days

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

I'm not really sure what to classify this as. Beer Advocate has it as a witbeer/white ale, which it is clearly not. It tastes like a blend of a dubbel and a pale ale, with some tartness to it. Not bad. Not great.

Stillwater Artisanal Ales - As Follows

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Yet another saison from Stillwater. Bitterness and aroma from noble hops. A slight funk to it. It was fine.

21st Amendment - Monk's Blood 2011

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

This isn't too bad now. Lots of dark fruit flavors. Pretty prevalent alcohol. Fine enough after a year.

Bell's 25th Anniversary Ale

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Packaged on August 12, 2010; Stored in various places in two apartments.

Now very nice and malty. Lots of caramel flavor. Only slightly bitter. I can't really remember what this was like before it aged, but it was still enjoyable now.

Oskar Blues - Deviant Dales

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

This smells really great and citrusy. Pretty bitter. It's well balanced. Its a more citrusy and bitter loose cannon. I'm just not sure I'd get it again FOR $14 for the 4 pack.

Avery - Hog Heaven

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

I had this on tap a year or two ago and I remember loving it. Its almost more of an IPA/DIPA than a barleywine. I think I like it better than Bigfoot. Its not overly sweet (for a barleywine), its got a nice smell to it, and while there's a lot of bitterness, it works well.

Anderson Valley - Hop Ottin' IPA

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

A nice enough IPA. Citrusy and fairly bitter. Easy drinking.

Terrapin Moo Hoo Stout

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

Not as chocolatey as I was expecting from the name. In fact, not chocolatey at all. Slightly sweet. Eh.

Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA

From Joe Drinks Dinner and Stuff

A nice enough IPA. More grassy than citrusy. Don't think I'd get another bottle though.
